4 Ideas to Spice up the Backyard Decor!

Fire Pit Pathway

Make your firepit feel like a destination with an intentionally designed pathway. For a simple update, consider adding a stepping stone path or lining the route with landscape lights. This backyard takes a more elaborate approach with a series of arbors wrapped in string lights leading the way to the firepit area.

Cottage Vibes

What’s more Canadian than a set of vibrant red Muskoka chairs arranged in a circle around a backyard fire pit? A place for family and friends to feel comfortable and enjoy the outdoors together!

Rug it Out
When designing your backyard deck area, “giant rug” isn’t usually top of mind when it comes to decor ideas. But perhaps it should be. A large patterned rug could provide just the pop of colour your backyard space needs.

Rock Solid

If you’re looking for a unique twist on the standard patio furniture, try something like this rustic table as seen below. Who knew that a literal pile of rocks could make for such a fantastic backyard addition and unique piece!?

Today’s Bank of Canada rate hold announcement marks almost four straight years that the key benchmark rate has remained unchanged, since September 8, 2010. Great news if you have a variable-rate mortgage or home equity line of credit; the prime rate stays at 3%.

The announcement noted that “the risks to the outlook for inflation remain roughly balanced, while the risks associated with household imbalances have not diminished.” With these considerations, the Bank is maintaining its monetary policy stimulus, and remains neutral with respect to the timing and direction of the next change.

The next rate-setting day is October 22nd.
